LAHA offers hockey opportunities for girls ages 4 thru 19:
LAHA House and Rec League teams
Season begins when the LA County Ice Rink Opens (typically mid-November)
Practice and House League play for all ages from 4 thru high school.
Opportunities to try out for teams playing in the New Mexico Recreational Hockey League (road games in Taos, Santa Fe, Rio Rancho and ABQ) and for Tournament teams..
LAHA High School Teams
All girls enrolled at Los Alamos High School are welcome to try out for the Junior Varsity or Varsity teams.
Historically, we have had a few girls who play Varsity and a larger number who play on the JV team.
LAHA All-Girls Practice
We are planning to once again have our weekly all-ages girls practice once the LAHA season begins. This practice is scheduled for Mondays, 6:30pm-7:30pm
New Mexico Mustangs Girls Hockey Association teams
The New Mexico Mustangs is a statewide hockey association created specifically to promote girls hockey and to establish girls hockey teams.
U19, U14, and U12 Mountain States Girls Hockey League teams
These teams will play a full league schedule in the Mountain States Girls Hockey League (MSGHL), which will require travel to Colorado approximately 4 to 6 times per season, including the MSGHL Tournament in Littleton, Colorado, Feb 19-22.
Opponents include teams from Aspen, Colorado Springs, Gunnison, Telluride, Steamboat Springs, Littleton, Lakewood, Vail, Breckenridge, and more!
U12 Rec League team
The Mustangs will be fielding an all-girls U12 team (for birth years 2002-2005) to play in the squirts division of the New Mexico Recreational Hockey League. Girls can play on the U12 Rec League team instead of OR in addition to the U12 MSGHL team.
Special Note about U12: Los Alamos will not roster an independent U12 MSGHL team for the upcoming season. Instead, we are partnering with the New Mexico Mustangs to declare the U12 MSGHL team mentioned above. I encourage all girls of appropriate age to participate in this team. It should be a blast!
Looking for more play opportunities? The Rock Stars are currently recruiting girls from Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah at the U14, U16, and U19 levels to play in some upcoming tournaments.
