SHOULD YOUR CHILD PLAY OR NOT NEXT 2 WEEKS

LAHA MEMBERS,

Many of our coaches are fielding calls about COVID exposures, and who is considered to be a close contact. The link below shows the current CDC quarantine and self isolation guidelines.

Please reference the CDC recommendations in this link as to whether or not a player should attend a LAHA event.  If any member of your family has tested positive, and that person has attended a LAHA event within 48 hours of the onset of symptoms or a positive test, please inform the head coach for your team.  The head coach for each team will alert those who could be close contacts to a positive case.

If you are unsure if you or your player are considered a close contact, discuss the issue with your team’s head coach to determine the path forward.

Thank you and stay safe,

Bob Nolen

ADDITIONAL COUNTY PROTOCOL AT RINK

LAHA MEMBERS,

The County has decided to put in place additional precautions for COVID.  All of the changes will take effect starting this Friday of this week.  The changes at the rink are as follows.

1.  Everyone that is not practicing or playing will be required to wear a mask while inside the fence-line of the rink. This includes outside except while practicing or playing a game.  Coaches on the bench will be expected to wear a mask on the bench.

2.  Social distancing at all times (6ft separation).  Avoid congregating in groups whether inside or outside.

We have been fortunate enough that the County management has allowed us to continue playing hockey with so many Covid cases growing.  In order that we do not get more stringent restrictions, we are asking those who attend to be vigilant in following these restrictions while at the rink.

Thank you for your cooperation in advance,

Bob Nolen

President LAHA

MASKS AT THE RINK

LAHA MEMBERS,

There were 4 complaints to the County that the staff are not serious about the mask mandate at the rink for many people were not wearing them indoors - restrooms, locker rooms, halls & in main part of building this week at the tournament.  We have been warned that if there is one more complaint we will be forced to wear the masks outside just standing around and on the ice.  So, I urge everyone to abide by the mask mandate or the coaches and the players will be required to wear them on the ice.

UPDATE: LOCKER ROOMS & PARENTS

UPDATE: LAHA MEMBERS,

We should have added that there will be no mothers in a boys locker room either!

There is a locker room for females only.  It is locker room #4.  We are trying to get a sign on it today, Saturday, December 4, 2021.  There will be no fathers in the Female Locker Room #4 at anytime.  All ages of females will be using that locker room & at anytime.  Any parent, in any locker room, male or female, must be Safesport trained and have a background check.

If all this causes problems for parents, please have your players already dressed when they arrive at the rink and just put on the skates in the Warming Hut.
